On a quiet street in Los Olivos, Marlene Robinson’s days look a lot different than they used to - more wine glasses, fewer conference calls (if any). After years in corporate marketing, she opted for a more grounded hands-on rhythm centered around people, craft, and good wine.

Her interest in wine didn’t happen overnight. It grew through trips to Italy and frequent visits to California’s Santa Rita Hills, known for standout Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Over time, that interest turned into something more serious, eventually leading her and her husband, Michael, to move to the Santa Ynez Valley.
Soon after settling in, they had the chance to take over a tasting room in Los Olivos they already knew well. By 2023, they were running it themselves, focusing on small-production local wines while keeping a touch of Italy in the mix, including sparkling wines from Valdobbiadene.
These days, Marlene spends less time on slide decks and more time talking with guests, walking them through tastings, and sharing what makes each wine worth trying. The shift didn’t just change her job. It made work a lot more personal.

Now Featuring: My Photography on Display!
Four of my photo pieces are now on display at Taste of Santa Rita Hills and Moretti Wines: Yellow Barn, Vineyard Barn, Duck Wave, and Esplosione di Rosso (Burst of Red).
Like the wines poured there, these pieces are meant to be experienced slowly, without rush.
Cheers to wine and art! What a wonderful pairing.
